The annual Arkansas Men's Silent Retreat was held at Subiaco, rather than at Montserrat in Lake Dallas TX, where it has been held for a number of years.  The retreat has typically begun on Palm Sunday, as it did this year. While open to all men, most of the participants are usually Knights of Columbus members.

Retreat coordinator Tom Yerina is currently seeking feedback from this year's attendees to determine if they prefer the Subiaco or the Montserrat site for future retreats.

The retreat began on Sunday afternoon with check in 4:00 - 5:30, and it concluded with the noon meal on Tuesday.  Father Ron Boudreaux SJ, Director of Montserrat, was the retreat master, and he gave six prayer conferences - one on Sunday, four on Monday, and one on Tuesday.  Conference titles included: God's Dream; Who Do You Say I Am; Power of the Holy Spirit to Re-Form Human Nature; Conscience as Moral Guide; God is Accepted by Some, Rejected by Others; and, Contemplation to Learn to Love Like God.

Besides time for individual meditation and reflection, organized activities included: morning prayer and evening prayer; vespers with the monks; mass, rosary, stations of the cross; tour with history; and six meals. Retreatants could schedule individual meetings with the director.  Confession time was also provided.

Retreat host Brother Francis introduced newly elected Abbott Leonard Wangler OSB who gave his blessing.

There were 29 participants, all of whom were from Sacred Heart of Jesus and all were Council 10208 Knights of Columbus members except one:  Ron Albert, Jim Ashley, Jerry Bertrand, John Bodensteiner, Ron Boudreaux, Bob Brandt, Dick Breckon, Ron Cuba, Tom Donnelly, Ed Doyle, Jim Dyar, Pierre Faure, Walter Free, Marshall Garrison, Bill Hartnett, Bob Honzik, Ken Huber, Wayne Kapple, Mike Kerwin, Gerald Krawczynski, Chuck MacDonald, Art Moressette, Bill Nosek, Don Ritter, Chuck Schumacher, Milt Spaniel, Tom Thornton, Tom Yerina, and Marvin Young.
